On March 29, 2017, the Aspen Institute Germany hosted a Brown Bag Lunch discussion featuring H.E. Marie Gervais-Vidricaire, Ambassador of Canada in Berlin, and H.E. Rodney Harris, Ambassador of New Zealand in Berlin. The discussion under Chatham House Rule focused on the challenges and opportunities for Canada’s and New Zealand’s relations towards Europe in a shifting international order. The participants discussed current joint challenges such as the changing role of the U.S. in the international order, international trade relations, and the impact of the Brexit. A special emphasis was placed on the implications of these developments for Canada’s and New Zealand’s political and economic relations towards Germany and other European countries.
