    Policy Program | The Aspen German-American Dialog – Learning From Each Other
    From May 7-13, the Aspen Institute Germany hosted the third Aspen German-American Dialog under the auspices of the Coordinator for Transatlantic Cooperation, Representative Jürgen Hardt (CDU). The program aimed to revitalize the German-American Partnership, to strengthen mutual understanding, and to provide a platform to find common answers to pressing problems of the 21st century at civil society and parliamentary level. At a conference, hosted at the Federal Foreign Office, MP Annalena Baerbock (Alliance 90/THE GREENS) and Congressman David McKinley (R-WV 1st District) discussed future challenges regarding climate change and electro mobility and together with Jürgen Hardt the shared values in the transatlantic relations. Upon the invitation of the further participating MPs Katharina Dröge (Alliance 90/THE GREENS), Volkmar Klein (CDU) and Annalena Baerbock (Alliance 90/THE GREENS) the civil society representatives deepened the exchange while traveling to the constituencies of Cologne, Siegen, and Potsdam. On site, the participants learned about companies and projects in the areas of work / training, renewable energies, mobility, digitalization and political education / media at the municipal level. The Dialog is funded by the Transatlantic Program of the Federal Republic of Germany with funds from the European Recovery Program of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and supported by the American Council on Germany.
