    Policy Program | Conference on Artificial Intelligence – "Humanity Disrupted: Artificial Intelligence and Changing Societies"
    The Aspen Institute Germany’s first annual Berlin AI conference – Humanity Disrupted: Artificial Intelligence and Changing Societies – brought together more than 350 top policy-makers, entrepreneurs, computer scientists, academics and representatives from business as well as media at the Baden-Württemberg State Representation in Berlin on March 14-15, 2018. Throughout the two days of the conference, topics such as AI and economics, ethics, autonomous driving, and politics and democracy were discussed in panel debates as well as smaller breakout sessions. The audience engaged with the experts over the challenges as well as the opportunities that AI has to offer regarding transportation, private home assistance, medical care, warfare, and many others. Speakers included Nicola Beer, Member of the Bundestag, former Minister of State and Secretary General of the FDP; Pedro Domingos, Professor of Computer Science at the University of Washington (see photo), and Renata Jungo Brüngger, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG. The conference was generously supported by the Heinz und Heide Dürr Stiftung, the State Representation of Baden-Württemberg, Daimler, the Aspen Initiative for Europe, Microsoft, Lockheed Martin, Pfizer, and the Firedrich Naumann Foundation.
