Aspen Germany in the Media

Aspen Institute Germany regularly contributes to national and international media discussions on pressing political, economic, and societal challenges. Through interviews, opinion pieces, expert commentary, and coverage of our public events, Aspen Germany brings evidence-based analysis and transatlantic perspectives into broader public discourse. Our media engagement reflects our core mission: to foster open dialogue, strengthen democratic values, and promote responsible leadership in times of geopolitical shifts, economic uncertainty, and rapid technological change.

A central voice in this engagement is Dr. Stormy-Annika Mildner, Executive Director of Aspen Institute Germany, who frequentlyrepresents the Institute in leading German and international media outlets. Through her expertise on economic security, transatlantic relations, trade policy, and geopolitical developments, she contributes informed perspectives to ongoing debates and helps shape constructive policy conversations. In doing so, she represents not only the Institute’s work, but also its commitment to non-partisan, forward-looking dialogue across sectors and borders.

By engaging with media platforms, the Aspen Institute Germany seeks to amplify thoughtful debate, connect policy, business, and academic perspectives, and advance solutions-oriented discussions on the issues shaping Germany, Europe, and the transatlantic partnership

In January 2026, Dr. Mildner was particularly active in public discussions surrounding tariffs, Europe’s economic resilience, and geopolitical pressure. She appeared on phoenix runde (January 20) to discuss Europe’s economic capacity to act, on Deutsche Welle’s Tothe Point (January 22) to analyze the strategic implications of U.S. tariff threats, and on maybrit illner (January 22) to assess the broader impact of U.S. policy on NATO, Ukraine, and Europe’s stability.

Further interviews with taz, The Wall Street Journal, and WISO in early February highlighted the Institute’s international visibility and the breadth of its expertise.
