The “AITech Dialogues: AI for Sustainable and Just Societies” series of dialogues addresses existing and emerging AI technologies, particularly with regard to ethical considerations of their impact and the governance required. In three collaborative events with Microsoft, the Aspen Institute Germany brings together experts from politics, business, academia, and civil society. They discuss how the use of AI affects democratic societies, how the regulatory framework must be designed to both foster trust in AI as a cross-cutting technology as well as maintaining an innovation momentum, and what measures are needed to strengthen sustainability, equal opportunity, fairness, and democracy. The aim is to facilitate a dialogue on societal opportunities and challenges for a more sustainable and equitable society. The results will be published in the form of recommendations for action as a starting point for further discussions.
