Since 2024, Aspen Institute Germany has participated in the Munich Security Conference (MSC). Aspen Germany has an exciting agenda planned for the upcoming MSC, February 14-16, 2025.
Aspen Germany will be hosting an official MSC Side-Event in the format of a panel discussion to explore the role influencers play in information production and dissemination and inspire deeper reflection on how their impact can either bolster or threaten democracies. This event, Scrolling for the Truth: Rethinking Influencers as the First Line of Defense Against Disinformation in Central and Eastern Europe, will be moderated by Dr. Stormy-Annika Mildner, and will feature three Central and Eastern European influencers, including one from Ukraine, a government representative, and a speaker from one of the major social media platforms.
In addition, Aspen Germany will be hosting an event to discuss the role of youth engagement to enhance peace and security in the Balkan region. The roundtable event, Inherited Insecurity: Why Youth Engagement Matters for Reconciliation in the Western Balkans, will provide a platform to hear from two Youth Activists from the Western Balkans who are reshaping the security landscapes in their local communities.
Aspen Germany looks forward to the many relevant, significant and interesting conversations to come during the 61st MSC.
