At a time of geopolitical fragmentation, democratic stress, and shifting power dynamics, diplomacy is being tested – and transformed. In this high-level panel discussion, female ambassadors from diverse regions share personal insights from the frontlines of diplomacy.
How does representation translate into real influence? How do women in leadership navigate strategic decision-making in times of crisis and polarization? And how is diplomatic practice evolving amid war, technological disruption, and growing global uncertainty?
Bringing together perspectives from NATO partners, the Indo-Pacific, and the Global South in the traditional Aspen Germany Fireside format, the conversation connects lived diplomatic experience with pressing global debates, including the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda (UNSCR 1325), democratic resilience, and the future of multilateralism.
The discussion examines how leadership is exercised in today’s complex international environment. It highlights how female leaders navigate power, responsibility, and strategic decision-making and how their leadership shapes negotiation cultures, security strategies, and the resilience of democratic institutions.
