This installment of the U.S. Election Speaker Series will delve into the role of foreign and security policy as well as global challenges in the U.S. elections and beyond. The featured expert is Amb. Douglas Lute, previous U.S. Ambassador to NATO. He will analyze how the election results will shape the country’s approach to international relations, particularly in the context of transatlantic alliances. Discussions will explore potential shifts in foreign policy priorities, security collaborations, and the impact on global stability. The speaker tour will reflect on how electoral choices influence diplomatic strategies, defense alliances, and broader international cooperation. The project incorporates a holistic view on security, including its intersection with issues like energy security and migration. The relationship of domestic politics, foreign relations, and transatlantic security will be examined, providing valuable insights into the interconnected nature of these critical aspects of global affairs.
During his speaker tour, Amb. Lute will travel to Tübingen, Stuttgart and Hamburg to participate in events organized by our local partners, the DAI Tübingen, DAZ Stuttgart and Amerikazentrum Hamburg.
