On May 19, 2026, the third virtual meeting on the topic of “Action Points” will take place for participants of the U.S.-German Forum on Future Agriculture 2026. The Aspen Institute Germany and its project partner, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, will welcome the sixteen participants of the 2026 cohort to this virtual session. As part of the project, the institute brings together eight German and eight American farmers as well as other agricultural stakeholders to promote innovative approaches to swine and poultry production and to strengthen transatlantic relations overall. In addition to the virtual meetings, this year’s cohort met in Hildesheim, Germany, from April 7 to April 11, 2026, and will travel to Raleigh, North Carolina, United States, from May 31 to June 4, 2026. During these meetings, participants will discuss practical and policy solutions as well as opportunities for transatlantic cooperation, visit best-practice operations on site, and engage with local representatives from government, business, and academia.
