A special event took place on September 26, 2024! On the occasion of our 50th anniversary, we celebrated with you the proud history and values of the Aspen Institute Germany and the people who have made all our achievements possible. With this tradition of promoting democratic values among committed people, we invited you to celebrate “Growing with Aspen” with us.
The centerpiece of the evening was the presentation of the Shepard Stone Award to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding transatlantic commitment to our values. The award recognizes the exceptional leadership that is at the core of transatlantic relations. It honors political, cultural, social and academic figures who exemplify the deeply rooted values of freedom and partnership of which the United States and Germany are proud. The evening offered a special program with a welcome, a festive dinner, the introduction of the award winners, a laudatory speech and the presentation of the awards. Music from around the world was also heard, underscoring Aspen Germany’s commitment to cross-border dialog.
We were delighted to welcome around 100 guests to the event, including friends, members and supporters of our institute as well as decision-makers from politics, business, the public and non-profit sectors, academia, the arts and culture.
