On December 5, 2023, Aspen Germany is hosting the event “China’s role in international politics as a challenge for the Western world. What answers does the German government’s China strategy provide?” with Felix Lee as part of the Global Threat Series. As a journalist, author, former Beijing correspondent for the taz newspaper and winner of the German Business Book Award 2023, Felix Lee will discuss with us the challenges facing Germany, the EU and USA in the context of China’s growing role in international politics and the extent to which the German government’s new China strategy can help to overcome them. Felix Lee will also talk about his book “China, my father and me. On the rise of a superpower and what the Lee family from Wolfsburg has to do with it” and his personal career and current work. The event will take place under the Chatham House Rule and will be moderated by Stormy-Annika Mildner, Executive Director of the Aspen Institute Germany.
