On Tuesday, February 4th, 2025, the sixth digital meeting of this year’s Laboratories of Democracy Initiative took place. The meeting focused on formulating a joint definition for social cohesion. The 30 participants from Canada, Germany, and the USA worked in independent groups and built the foundation for their delegation trip to Dresden, which took place from February 25th to March 1st, 2025. The goal of the Laboratories of Democracy Initiative is to promote values-based dialogue and exchange of ideas on common political challenges at the subnational level. At the same time, the exchange promotes peer learning and helps to build transatlantic networks beyond the capital cities.
The project is supported by the Transatlantic Program of the Federal Republic of Germany, funded by the European Recovery Program (ERP) of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).
