On Tuesday, January 21, 2024, Aspen Germany will host the fourth virtual meeting of the 2025 Laboratories of Democracy Initiative for the participating state and provincial legislators entitled “USA 101 – Exploring Subnational Governance in the USA”. Boris Vormann, Professor of Politics and Director of the Politics Section at Bard College Berlin, will join the meeting as an expert and speaker. Dr. Vormann’s presentation and the subsequent joint exchange will address governance in the United States at the federal, state, and local level to lay the foundation for all upcoming discussions in this project. The presentation provides an opportunity to learn more about the U.S. political system and the distribution of power and responsibilities. With regard to the focus topic of the fifth round of exchanges, a special emphasis is placed on social cohesion.
The project is supported by the Transatlantic Program of the Federal Republic of Germany, funded by the European Recovery Program (ERP) of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).
