What will the future of the transatlantic partnership look like – and who will shape it? RESET, an initiative of Aspen Institute Germany, brings together young political leaders from Germany and the United States to explore this question through a structured, cross-party, and values-based dialogue. This kickoff event marks the official launch of the 2026 cohort and serves as an introductory session. Participants will meet one another, become acquainted across political and regional backgrounds, and engage in an initial discussion of the project’s goals, themes, and structure. From 2026 to 2028, three cohorts of participants aged 20–30 will take part in a forward-looking exchange process focused on key transatlantic challenges. The 2026 cohort will center on security, combining in-person meetings and virtual workshops to develop strategic perspectives and strengthen networks of trust and collaboration.RESET 2026 includes international study trips, with sessions in Norfolk, Virginia (May 26–30, 2026) and Wiesbaden, Germany (September 14–18, 2026), alongside ongoing virtual engagement.
