The next event in the virtual event series “Road to Election 2024” will focus on the trade policy of the future administration. To examine where the two presidential candidates differ and align on their overall trade strategy, the use of tariffs, the relationships with Europe and China, and looking ahead to the USMCA review, we are pleased to welcome two experts with inside perspectives on transatlantic trade policymaking. We look forward to welcoming Kate Kalutkiewicz, Senior Managing Director at McLarty Associates for trade practice, and Sarah Bianchi, Senior Managing Director and Chief Strategist of international political affairs and public policy at Evercore ISI, for an off-the-record discussion on possible agendas for the next Administration. The discussion will be moderated by Stephanie Harwood, RGIT’s Policy Manager for Trade.
The event is organized and hosted by the Road to Election partner organization Representative of German Industry and Trade (RGIT). Please find more information about the event and its registration here.
The 2024 U.S. election will significantly shape the transatlantic political environment and policy landscape. Transatlantic organizations play an integral role in convening thought leaders, bringing a transatlantic perspective to U.S. and European domestic policy discussions, and influencing public discourse on both sides of the Atlantic. This will be particularly important in 2024, which is why the Aspen Institute Germany is pleased to partner with over 25 other transatlantic organizations and political foundations on the “Road to Election 2024” virtual event series. Information about all events in the series can be found at: www.roadtoelection.de. Running from January 2024 to January 2025, the virtual event series will host in-depth discussions and foster a vibrant exchange of ideas in the lead-up to the pivotal 2024 U.S. election. The initiative’s events will feature prominent researchers, policymakers, commentators, and civil society representatives, exploring diverse formats and a wide array of topics. From public polling and media impact to electoral demographics, the future of U.S. democracy, and pressing policy issues like trade and immigration, the “Road to Election” series aims to offer comprehensive insights for audiences in both the United States and Germany.
