On October 16, 2025, the Aspen Institute Germany hosted Dan Mullaney, former United States Trade Representative and now Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Europe Center and GeoEconomics Center, for a roundtable discussion on the current state of transatlantic trade. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Stormy-Annika Mildner, Executive Director of the Aspen Institute Germany, and brought together high-level experts from politics, business, and civil society. Participants explored whether the European Union’s current approach toward the United States remains effective or whether the EU should adopt a more assertive stance in trade negotiations.
