How can transatlantic solidarity contribute to strengthening peace, democracy, and resilience in the Western Balkans? This question lies at the heart of Aspen Institute Germany’s project “Solidarity in Action: A Transatlantic Collaboration Platform for Peace and Democracy in the Western Balkans.”
As part of the initiative, emerging leaders from the Western Balkans, the EU, and the United States engaged in a structured dialogue process. Together, they examined key challenges facing democratic institutions, social cohesion, and regional stability. Building on these exchanges, participants developed concrete, practice-oriented policy recommendations addressed to decision-makers at the national and European levels.
These recommendations will now be presented and discussed at an upcoming Advocacy Meeting, with German ministry representatives. The aim is to ensure that the perspectives of young transatlantic experts inform policy debates and to generate momentum for sustained support of democratic reforms and regional cooperation in the Western Balkans.
