On March 6, 2026, participants from the “Solidarity in Action” cohort attended an advocacy meeting with representatives from the German Federal Foreign Office, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity, and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. The meeting provided a valuable platform for participants to present and discuss their policy recommendations with German policymakers and to exchange views on current developments in the European Union, the Western Balkans, and the evolving transatlantic relationship. During the discussion, participants highlighted key challenges facing the region, including structural inequalities, declining accountability, and weakening national and regional cohesion, and exchanged views on the future of transatlantic involvement in the region. The exchange allowed for an open and constructive dialogue on Germany’s role in supporting stability, democratic resilience, and Euro-Atlantic integration in the region. Participants also gained valuable insights into Germany’s policy priorities and approaches toward the Western Balkans.
