“Subnational Defence and Aerospace Policy Dialogue” Delegation Trip

    • November 10, 2025

    • November 14, 2025

From November 10 to 14, 2025, the Aspen Institute Germany, in cooperation with the German Federal Foreign Office, hosted a delegation of U.S. state legislators from Florida for a high-level exchange on innovation policy in the aerospace and defense sectors. At a time when cutting-edge technologies are reshaping security, industry, and policymaking on both sides of the Atlantic, the visit offered participants a close look at Germany’s evolving high-tech ecosystem.
Over the course of the program, the delegation engaged with leading companies, emerging start-ups, and senior policy-makers in Berlin and Bavaria. From discussions at the Bundestag and the Bavarian State Parliament to exchanges with innovators in semiconductors, aerospace, and DefenseTech, the program focused on the future of transatlantic cooperation in armament and space exploration. Alongside debates on supply chain resilience, Europe’s ambitions in space, and Germany’s accelerated defense investments, the trip fostered candid dialogue, strengthened networks, and reinforced the U.S.–German partnership at the intersection of innovation and security.
