On January 26, 2026, the Aspen Institute Germany and its project partner, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, hosted the first virtual meeting for participants in the U.S.-German Forum Future Agriculture project. The meeting focused on agricultural policy and animal health and welfare in farming in Germany, laying the groundwork for all subsequent discussions within the new cohort. The project is supported by the Transatlantic Program of the Federal Republic of Germany with funds from the European Recovery Program (ERP) of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWE).
