Both Europe and the United States have a central role to play in shaping a more sustainable agricultural future. To address common challenges and provide shared global leadership for the future of agriculture, a better mutual understanding of different agricultural practices, standards and ideas is needed. The Future of Agriculture German-American Forum project, led by the Aspen Institute Germany in collaboration with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, addresses this need by bringing together German and U.S. farmers and key agricultural stakeholders from research and business. By sharing experiences, building new transatlantic networks and developing policy recommendations, this project promotes innovative approaches to the future of agriculture and rural areas. As part of the project, Aspen Germany, in partnership with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Table Media, are hosting a hybrid virtual/in-person event for the second cohort on September 9, 2024 from 14:00 to 18:00 CEST. The event will take place at the dbb Forum Berlin (Friedrichstraße 169, 10117 Berlin) with virtual participation also possible via Zoom. This year’s event will focus on the digital transformation of the beef and dairy cattle farming. Participants from Germany and the United States will discuss the future of agriculture, with a focus on technological advancements in the dairy and cattle industries. The event will also provide an opportunity to discuss the policy recommendations developed as part of the project with US and German representatives from politics, research, business and practice. The event will be held in English. We invite you to join us for this important conversation as we explore innovative solutions and collaborative efforts to advance the digital transformation of the cattle industry. The project is supported by the Transatlantic Program of the Federal Republic of Germany, funded by the European Recovery Program (ERP) of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK).
