To promote dialogue between think tanks from the Western Balkans, selected experts, and German policymakers, the Aspen Institute Germany will host representatives from the Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS). The think tank from Kosovo specializes in cybersecurity, security policy, and hybrid threats – including disinformation and the associated challenges to democratic governance and the rule of law. During the week of May 18-22, 2026, the representatives will exchange views on their perspectives regarding cybersecurity and security policy cooperation between the Western Balkans and the European Union, particularly regarding Kosovo’s experiences and needs as well as the EU integration process. The collaboration with the KCSS is part of the project “SECURE – Stability, European Cooperation & Unity for Regional Engagement,” funded by the German Federal Foreign Office. The project aims to strengthen the role of regional think tanks in political decision-making processes, increase their visibility and connectivity with German and European actors, and at the same time contribute to capacity building in the region. The Aspen Institute Germany serves as the coordination and dialogue platform in Germany.
