Visit: RERI – Renewables and Environmental Regulatory Institute

    • April 20, 2026

    • April 24, 2026

During the week of April 20–24, 2026, Aspen Germany hosted representatives from the Renewables and Environmental Regulatory Institute (RERI), a think tank from Serbia specializing in energy and raw materials security. The representatives were interested in discussing their perspectives on energy and raw materials security in the context of good governance and the rule of law, particularly with regard to sustainable and responsible resource extraction. The exchange focused on challenges related to institutional frameworks, public participation, and environmental standards, as well as their practical implementation. The cooperation with the Renewables and Environmental Regulatory Institute is part of the project “SECURE – Stability, European Cooperation & Unity for Regional Engagement”, funded by the German Federal Foreign Office. One of the project’s key components is to foster exchange between think tanks from the Western Balkans and selected experts and decision-makers in Germany. The aim is to strengthen their role in political decision-making processes, enhance their visibility and connectivity with German and European stakeholders, and contribute to capacity building in the region. The Aspen Institute Germany serves as the coordinating and dialogue platform in Germany.
