Start of the second cohort Future Cities Go Glocal 2025/2026

Launch of the second cohort of Future Cities Go Glocal: ‘The Just City’

In November, the second cohort of the Future Cities Go Glocal program began under the theme ‘The Just City’. This cohort, which will run from 2025 to 2026, brings together 20 urban actors from Berlin, New Delhi, Nairobi and Mexico City who are working on issues of social justice and participation in their respective cities.

As part of the program, participants will exchange ideas on key challenges, such as unequal access to housing, education, healthcare and political participation. Digitalisation and artificial intelligence are cross-cutting themes that can open up new opportunities for participation while also reinforcing existing inequalities. The aim is to jointly develop concrete ideas and recommendations for creating more just and inclusive cities.

Following the virtual launch in November, the cohort will continue its intensive work this year. A key program item is the face-to-face meeting in Berlin in February, where international exchange will be deepened and joint solutions further developed.

The project is funded by the German Class Lottery Foundation Berlin.

Aspen Germany is looking forward to welcoming the participants of the second cohort.
