Participation of Aspen Germany’s Director Dr. Stormy-Annika Mildner at T20 Conference in Brasil
We are delighted that our Director Dr Stormy-Annika Mildner attended the T20 conference in Brazil. T20 is a G20 engagement group that brings together think tanks and research centers from G20 members, guest countries and organizations. Following the principles of inclusiveness, representativeness, and effectiveness, T20 Brasil sought to engage a large number of national and foreign think tank, particularly welcoming more African Think Tanks, and have a broader impact on the G20 official policy processes. It also built stronger links with other engagement groups so that recommendations and policy options produced as part of the T20 Brasil discussions reflect a comprehensive understanding of the issues at stake and enjoy stronger support and legitimacy.
This year, the T20 took place in Rio de Janeiro, where our director, Dr. Stormy-Annika Mildner, also participated. She contributed to the Policy Brief on “Trade and the Environmental Poly-Crisis – Making the World Trade Organisation Fit to Better Deal with Trade and the Environment”. The Policy Brief recommends that the G20 discuss proposals to enhance current WTO rules to better address environmental concerns and to use dialogue mechanisms to deal with environment-related trade disputes.
