Successor project “Future Cities – A Transatlantic Townhall”: “Future Cities – Go Glocal”
Aspen Germany is pleased to announce the new project “Future Cities Go Glocal,” supported by the Stiftung Deutscher Klassenlotterie Berlin. This project builds upon the successes of its predecessor, “Future Cities – A Transatlantic Townhall,” and marks the beginning of a new chapter in promoting sustainable and equitable urban environments.
While the previous project focused exclusively on the USA and Germany, “Future Cities – Go Glocal” now expands its focus to emerging countries worldwide. Specifically, the project targets the cities of New Delhi, Nairobi, Mexico City, and Berlin. Over the next two years, Aspen Germany aims to deepen understanding, promote the exchange of values, and share best practices among these cities. Through various digital formats, a total of twenty urban decision-makers will be selected, with five from each city, to collaborate across borders.
At the core of the project is the joint tackling of urban challenges. A key emphasis is placed on developing innovative urban solutions that prioritize sustainability and justice. This includes a focus on green infrastructure, digital transformation, and inclusive governance. By fostering an environment of mutual learning and exchange of shared experiences, the project aims to highlight and replicate successful strategies in cities, tailored to local needs and contexts.
Our goal is twofold: to build new networks and develop concrete recommendations for decision-makers in politics, business, and civil society.
