America’s Choice: Harris, Housewives and the American Dream

    • August 13, 2020

Joe Biden’s search for a running mate has been underway for several months, prompting speculations about who might be the leading contender. Now Biden has announced Senator Kamala Harris as his running mate. What does the 55-year-old politician from California stand for? How will Biden’s decision affect his campaign and the election? We also look at America’s suburbs in this episode. How have the suburbs changed over the past decades? Why are they relevant to the election campaigns? David Deißner, Executive Director at Atlantik-Brücke, talks to Kerstin Kohlenberg, U.S. correspondent at the weekly newspaper DIE ZEIT, to discuss both the historic Biden-Harris ticket as well as the role of suburbs in the 2020 election.
