Aspen Leadership Seminar “Philosophy and Practice”

What marks the relationship between individual freedom and societal order? What is human nature? What are the most important aspects of ethical leadership and to what extent are they applicable? These and many other questions were heatedly discussed during the 23rd Aspen Leadership Seminar from November 8 to 11, 2018. Guided by moderators Carol Gluck and Anna Kuchenbecker, participants reflected on fundamental questions of the human existence based on philosophical text excerpts ranging from antiquity to modernity. Secluded and far from daily routine and the turmoil of the city, the Seminar brought together a selected circle of high-level decision-makers from the private, financial, and public sector with a broad range of different backgrounds. Thus emerged a group that included not only a cross-section of German society, but of European society.
