On June 19, 2018, the Aspen Institute Germany and the “Verein der Freunde des Aspen Instituts” hosted the annual Summer Party at the Mendelssohn-Remise in Berlin. Rüdiger Lentz, Executive Director of the Aspen Institute Germany, Dr. Roland Hoffmann-Theinert, Chairman of the Board of the “Verein der Freunde,” and Eckart von Klaeden, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Aspen Institute Germany, welcomed the guests and briefly discussed the activities and future of the Institute. This year’s guest of honor was State Minister Niels Annen of the Federal Foreign Office, who discussed transatlantic relations, the upcoming NATO-Summit in Brussels, and German foreign policy in a Late-Night-Talk with Rüdiger Lentz. Afterwards, 150 guests enjoyed the summer evening in the courtyard of the historic Remise.
