Background Briefing on the Current Protests in Iran and the Future of the Iran Deal

On February 22, 2018, the Aspen Institute Germany hosted a Background Briefing on Iran with Charlotte Wiedemann, Journalist and Author of the book “Der neue Iran: Eine Gesellschaft tritt aus dem Schatten” and Dr. Ali Fathollah-Nejad, Associate Fellow in the Program Middle East and North Africa at DGAP, Visiting Fellow at Brookings Doha, Associate of the Iran-Project Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center and Scientific Researcher at the Centre of International Cooperation and Development Research of the ULB – Université libre de Bruxelles. After input statements by Ms. Wiedemann and Dr. Fathollah-Nejad on the current situation in Iran, the participants engaged in a lively discussion on the current protests in Iran and the future of the Iran deal.
