On September 26, 2017, the Aspen Institute Germany, Catherine von Fürstenberg-Dussmann, and Dussmann das KulturKaufhaus hosted a lecture and discussion with Prof. Dr. Carlo Strenger, author and professor of psychology and philosophy at Tel Aviv University. Prof. Strenger presented his newest book “Abenteuer Freiheit – Ein Wegweiser für unsichere Zeiten,” in which he argues that freedom and happiness are often taken for granted in our society even though these are valuable privileges that we should constantly fight for. In a conversation with Dr. Anna Kuchenbecker, Deputy Director of the Aspen Institute Germany, and the audience, Prof. Strenger also discussed the meaning of Western values, misconception in our society, and the challenges of an increasingly interconnected, digitalized, and complex world.
