On October 23, 2018, the Aspen Institute Germany in cooperation with Dussmann das KulturKaufhaus hosted a book presentation and discussion with Ambassador Wolfgang Ischinger, Chairman of the Munich Security Conference and Senior Professor for Social Policy and Diplomatic Practice at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin. Ambassador Ischinger spoke about his new book “Welt in Gefahr: Deutschland und Europa in unsicheren Zeiten” (The world in danger: Germany and Europe in uncertain times). In an interview with Rüdiger Lentz, Executive Director of the Aspen Institute Germany, and after words of welcome by Catherine von Fürstenberg-Dussmann, Ambassador Ischinger discussed the need for a reorientation of German and European foreign policy, the art of diplomacy, and the necessity of an inclusive public debate regarding current global hotspots.
