On February 16, 2020, the Aspen Institute Germany in cooperation with the American Council on Germany (ACG) hosted a breakfast briefing with Peter Berkowitz, Director of Policy Planning at the U.S. Department of State, and Sebastian Groth, Director of Policy Planning at the German Federal Foreign Office, on “Shaping Foreign Policy in Uncertain Times: Views from Washington and Berlin.” On the periphery of the Munich Security Conference, the participants discussed current foreign policy challenges facing the United States and Germany, the state of transatlantic relations, as well as their main takeaways from MSC 2020.
