The Aspen Institute Germany hosted Pete Buttigieg, the Mayor of South Bend, Indiana, and recent candidate for Chairman of the Democratic National Committee on Sunday, April 2nd for an off-the-record brunch to talk about American progressivism after the 2016 elections and U.S. foreign policy in the Trump era. The 35-year-old, openly gay veteran is considered one of the rising stars of the Democratic Party and a champion for the role of cities in driving state and national policy-making.
