    • February 04, 2023

On July 05, 2021, the Aspen Institute Germany, in cooperation with the Southeast Europe Association and supported by the German Federal Foreign Office, organized the Western Balkans “Civil Society & Think Tank Forum II: Berlin 2021” of this year’s Berlin Process Summit. Throughout six panel discussions, civil society representatives from the Western Balkans discussed a range of problems that the region is facing with politicians and decision-makers from the Western Balkans and the EU, based on the results of the working groups from the Civil Society & Think Tank Forum I on June 01-02, 2021. The concrete policy recommendations that experts and civil society activists discussed and exchanged best practices about ranged from topics like the Green Agenda and integrity compliance in infrastructure projects to democracy promotion, digitalization, media freedom and minority rights as well as reconciliation.
The results and policy recommendations that were developed in the working groups of the first forum and discussed at the second forum can be found here: https://www.aspeninstitute.de/wp-content/uploads/Final-Recommendations-CSF2021.pdf
If you missed the first or the second Civil Society & Think Tank Forum, you can review all the panel discussions on our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCj5QMD7ScagPfQMI6XXQ_lg/playlists
