Digital Dish with Lars-Hendrik Röller: “Lunch Debrief on the German G20 Presidency and a Look Ahead at Global Governance”

    • September 19, 2017

On September 19, the Aspen Institute Germany partnered with the Embassy of Spain to Berlin to launch its inaugural Digital Dish luncheon series with a debrief on the 2017 Hamburg G20 Summit and an outlook on global governance with Lars-Hendrik Röller, Chancellor Merkel’s top economic advisor and G7/20 Sherpa. The conversation focused on the themes of trade, climate change, women’s empowerment, Africa and digital transformation in the context of Germany’s 2017 G20 chairmanship under the heading of ‘Shaping an Interconnected World.’ Argentinian Ambassador Luis María Kreckler provided the response and a look ahead toward Argentina’s G20 priorities in Buenos Aires in 2018. Rüdiger Lentz, Aspen Germany Executive Director, and Spanish Ambassador Maria Victoria Morera Villuendas hosted the luncheon. The conversation was off-the-record and held in English with 30 senior representatives from politics, business, academia and the diplomatic community. The Aspen Institute Germany’s Digital Dish series is a regular gathering that features provocative thinkers for an intimate, off-the-record lunch to discuss a special issue related to the most pressing tech policy debates.
