On November 25, 2019 the Aspen Institute Germany hosted an exclusive dinner discussion with Internet pioneer Vinton G. Cerf – who serves as Vice President & Chief Internet Evangelist at Google – in the context of this year’s Internet Governance Forum in Berlin. The discussion revolved around the global governance of AI and was moderated by Michaela Küfner, Chief Political Editor at Deutsche Welle. Participants explored the challenges and parameters of a truly inclusive and international AI governance structure, addressing the political, legal, and ethical concerns that would need to be addressed. At the same time, the group discussed approaches to foster the innovative potential of this technology for the benefit of humanity.
