On March 19, 2018, the Aspen Institute Germany hosted an exclusive discussion on the topic of the recent Russian presidential election. Sabine Adler, Deutschlandradio Correspondent covering Eastern Europe, and Dr. Stefan Meister, Head of Program on Eastern Europe, Russia, and Central Asia at the Robert Bosch Center of the German Council on Foreign Relations, discussed the significance of the election results for Russia’s future role in the world as well as Russian-German relations in particular and EU-Russian relations in general. More specifically, Ms. Adler and Dr. Meister, in a discussion moderated by Rüdiger Lentz, shared their thoughts on the possible effects of Putin’s re-election on Russia’s future trade and security policies.
