On February 26, 2024, a third digital workshop for participants of the second cohort of the project “U.S.-German Forum Future Agriculture” will take place to discuss U.S. agricultural policy. Participants will be joined by topical expert, Dr. Jonathan Coppess, Associate Professor and Director of the Gardner Agriculture Policy Program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. After an interactive presentation, participants will have the opportunity to participate in discussions and share personal experiences related to the topic. The Forum brings together eight German and U.S. farmers and other agricultural stakeholders to promote innovative solutions for a sustainable future for agriculture and rural areas. The project also aims to strengthen the transatlantic relationship through collaborative exchanges in rural areas and the agricultural sector as a whole. The second cohort involves participants working in the beef and dairy sector in northern Germany and the U.S. East Coast. The project is supported by the Transatlantic Program of the Federal Republic of Germany with funds from the European Recovery Program (ERP) of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK).
