High-Level Dinner and Discussion on the topic “Digital China: Rise of the Silicon Middle Kingdom” with Dr. Edward Tse

    • October 16, 2018

On October 16, 2018, the Aspen Institute Germany hosted and exclusive dinner and discussion on the topic “Digital China: Rise of the Silicon Middle Kingdom” with Dr. Edward Tse, Founder and CEO of Gao Feng Advisory Company and former Chairman for Greater China of Booz & Company. The dinner provided for ample opportunity to assess how China is presenting an alternative model to the United States and Europe in the development and deployment of new tech in artificial intelligence, blockchain, and quantum computing. It also focused on the strengths and challenges of China’s digital disrupters such as Alibaba, Tencent, and Baidu. Further, the participants were interested in China’s perception of the current trade conflict with the US as well as its approach towards cryptocurrencies. The geostrategic dimension of China’s tech rise was also addressed.
