On February 28th, 2024, the fifth digital meeting of this year’s Laboratories of Democracy Initiative will take place. The meeting will focus on defining the multiple aspects of critical infrastructures, as well as identifying common challenges and opportunities on both sides of the Atlantic. The 30 participants from Canada, Germany and the USA will work in independent groups and build the foundation for their delegation trip to Mainz, which will take place from March 12th to 16th 2024. The goal of the Laboratories of Democracy Initiative is to promote values-based dialog and exchange of ideas on common political challenges at the subnational level. At the same time, the exchange promotes peer learning and helps to build transatlantic networks beyond the capital cities.
The project is supported by the Transatlantic Program of the Federal Republic of Germany, funded by the European Recovery Program (ERP) of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).
