On August 29, 2022, the third digital meeting of this year’s Laboratories of Democracy Initiative took place for the participating German and U.S. state legislators. The meeting focused on identifying challenges and policy recommendations for transatlantic cooperation on energy and climate. In a first breakout session, the delegates developed and discussed common challenges in transatlantic relations related to this year’s focus topic. In a second breakout session, each group drafted policy recommendations for the previously identified challenges. The results of this digital meeting and group work will serve as a starting point for further discussion of relevant recommendations during the joint trip to New Jersey from September 13 to September 17.
