Leadership Seminar Philosophy and Practice

    • February 21, 2019

    • February 24, 2019

Far from routine, the big city, and everyday work, 17 individuals took part in the 24th Aspen Leadership Seminar from February 21 to 24, 2019, contemplating topics such as human nature, the individual and society, societal order and many more. Seeking abstraction, distance, and reflection, the Aspen Leadership Seminar offers leaders the unique opportunity to question their actions, to obtain awareness of their role within society, and to define what makes for good and ethical leadership. Guided by experienced moderators Leigh Hafrey and Ruth Girardet, participants debated on the basis of philosophical text excerpts ranging from antiquity to modernity. The Seminar united a unique group of selected decisionmakers from the public, private, and economic sector with extremely diverse backgrounds and professional fields, thus bringing a broad range of experiences, viewpoints, and interpretations to the table.
