One day after the second round of elections in France, Aspen Germany hosted a virtual event on the French presidential election on Monday, April 25, 2022 from 12:30 to 13:20 CEST. The International Press Luncheon format is designed to allow foreign journalists to comment on and discuss the 2022 French presidential election. The goal of the event is to discuss the outcome of the election and possible implications for international and transatlantic cooperation in the face of the most pressing international and domestic challenges: the invasion of Ukraine, economic and social issues, and the Covid 19 pandemic.
We discussed these and many other issues with Cécile Boutelet, Economics Correspondent for Germany at Le Monde; and Oliver Moody, Berlin Correspondent at the Times and Sunday Times. Dr. Stormy-Annika Mildner, Executive Director of Aspen Germany, moderated the virtual panel. The 50-minute discussion was broadcast live via Zoom, recorded and uploaded to Aspen Germany’s YouTube channel.
