Panel discussion „Putin’s War on Ukraine – Is the West Doing Enough?”

    • March 03, 2022

The attacks on the people of Ukraine since February 24 are an attack on all of us who are committed to a values-based society and democracy – Aspen’s core values. We stand with Ukraine and would like to express our solidarity also by informing the German public about what is happening in Ukraine. What brought about such an escalation on the Russian-Ukrainian border? How are the Ukrainian citizens doing? What is the best way to help them?
We discussed these and more questions on March 03 from 4:00 – 5:15 p.m. (CET) in a virtual panel discussion with two voices each from Ukrainian and German politics. Halyna Yanchenko and Lesia Vasylenko, both Members of the Ukrainian Parliament, as well as Metin Hakverdi, and Robin Wagener, both Members of the German Bundestag participated as speakers. Executive Director of Aspen Germany, Dr. Stormy Mildner, moderated the virtual panel. The 75-minute discussion was broadcasted live via Zoom, recorded to be uploaded on Aspen Germany’s YouTube cannel (Aspen Institute Germany – YouTube), and promoted via our social media platforms.
