On May 29, 2018 the Aspen Institute Germany in cooperation with Pew Research Center hosted an evening event for the release of a major new survey on “Christian Identity and (In)Tolerance in Secular Western Europe.” The results of the study were presented by Dr. Neha Sahgal, Associate Director of Research at Pew Research Center, and Alan Cooperman, Director of Religion Research at Pew Research Center. Following the presentation, the survey results were discussed by Dr. Dirck Ackermann, Office of the Protestant Chaplaincy of the German Armed Forces, Volker Beck, Associate Lecturer at the Center for Religious Studies (CERES) of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Dr. Jan Schneider, Head of Research Unit at the Expert Council of German Foundations on Integration and Migration, Viola van Melis, Head of the Centre for Research Communication, Cluster of Excellence “Religion and Politics,” at the University of Münster, and Minister Gregor Hohberg, Chairman of the Board, House One.
