Roundtable Discussion on „Albania and EU Accession Talks – Partnering with the Citizens’ Quest for Democracy”

On April 11, 2019, the Aspen Institute Germany hosted a roundtable discussion on the topic “Albania and EU Accession Talks – Partnering with the Citizens’ Quest for Democracy” in cooperation with the Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM) from Tirana, Albania. Sotiraq Hroni, Executive Director at the Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM), Mr. Gjergji Vurmo, Program Director at the Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM), and Ambassador Thomas Ossowski, Special Representative for the Negotiations on the EU Multiannual Financial Framework and Deputy Director General for European Affairs of the German Federal Foreign Office, discussed the upcoming EC Progress Report and the subsequent June 2019 European Council decision on the opening of EU accession talks with Albania, as well as recent developments in the country.
