Roundtable Discussion on the topic “Current Political Developments in Kosovo and the Role of the Opposition”

    • September 11, 2019

While most international attention about the Republic of Kosovo goes to the Belgrade-Pristina dialog, the roundtable discussion focused on the domestic political situation in the country and in particular the role of the opposition. Albin Kurti, President of Vetëvendosje! and designated Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, and Josip Juratović, Member of the German Bundestag, discussed the following questions: What is the current political situation? What do obvious divisions within the government mean for the country? What would be likely coalitions and what will this mean for the future of the country? What is the status of much-needed reforms? What does the dominance of the Belgrade-Pristina dialog mean for the internal development of democracy in the country? How can the Serbian community be better integrated in political decision-making?
