The Russia-Ukraine Crisis and the West – How to Preserve Peace and Unity?

    • February 20, 2022

The Munich Security Conference met this year against the backdrop of an evolving international security conflict in and about Ukraine between Russia and the allies of the West. Munich connects leaders and security thinkers from around the world to discuss security issues on a global stage. On February 20th, 2022, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., Aspen Germany and BerlinDialogue hosted an exclusive side event to the Munich Security Conference, where we will discuss the Russia-Ukraine-Crisis and the “West’s” response to this conflict. Our exclusive Aspen and BerlinDialogue side event brought together security and foreign policy experts from the US and Europe with the specific purpose of discussing the Russia-Ukraine crisis and the western options of finding a way to preserve peace and unity. This confidential meeting wanted to understand and discuss the current moves of Putin-Zelenskyy-Scholz-Macron-Biden-Xi Jinping and the EU to explore ways out of the crisis especially focusing on the German role and room for maneuver.
