On March 29, 2023, Aspen Institute Germany and its project partner, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, hosted the second virtual meeting for participants of the U.S.-German Forum Future Agriculture project and welcomed Prof. Dr. Stephan Cramon-Taubadel as expert and speaker. Prof. Dr. Cramon-Taubadel holds the Chair of Agricultural Policy at the Georg-August-University of Göttingen. The lecture focused on agricultural policy in Germany, laying the groundwork for all further discussions in this project. The event gave the eight participants from the United States the opportunity to learn more about the important players and policy instruments in the German agricultural landscape, as well as current trends and key issues in current and future agricultural policy. The project is supported by the Transatlantic Program of the Federal Republic of Germany with funds from the European Recovery Program (ERP) of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK).
