From May 13-17, 2024, the in-person meeting of the second year’s cohort of the U.S.-German Forum Future Agriculture project will take place in Kiel, Germany. A cohort of 16 U.S. and German farmers and other agricultural stakeholders will meet with policymakers, research institutes, and agricultural companies and visit local farms in Schleswig-Holstein. The core topic for 2024 is digitalization in the dairy and beef cattle industries. Participants this year come from the Northeastern United States and Schleswig-Holstein and Niedersachsen in Germany. The goal of the U.S.-German Forum Future Agriculture is to promote innovative solutions for a sustainable future for agriculture and rural areas. The project also aims to strengthen the transatlantic relationship through exchanges in rural areas and the agricultural sector as a whole. The project is supported by the Transatlantic Program of the Federal Republic of Germany with funds from the European Recovery Program (ERP) of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK).
